Orthopedic Acupunture

In sports and orthopedic style acupuncture, we implement both ancient and modern techniques to address today’s pain or physical limitations.

Manual therapies such as cupping, guasha, bodywork, and electro-stimulation acupuncture target specific muscles and muscle groups, stimulating both local and systemic immune responses within the body to help you heal. These techniques can be used to address pain involving chronic or acute symptoms, arthritic pain, nerve-related issues, sports injuries, athletic recovery, post-surgical rehabilitation and so much more.

Combining both East Asian medical theory and an understanding of neurology, orthopedic acupuncture can be helpful in the reduction and/or elimination of pain, while improving flexibility and increasing range of motion. Our treatments are also hugely complementary to other modalities like chiropractic care and physical therapy.

Treating young athletes, ages 12-18 years, has recently become one of my favorite ways to promote the accessibility of this ancient medicine. Using cupping and guasha techniques, as well as a more contemporary orthopedic acupuncture style, I am able to help these kids stay healthy and recover well to keep up with the modern demands of athletic performance. -Carmen
